The two, Jonathan Cespedes and Jimmy Rivera, were issued infractions after police made the stop on Wednesday, Jan. 9 on Danbury Road, said the Wilton Police.
When stopped, Cespedes told officers the DMV had made an error in inputting the color when issuing his registration and a check of the vehicle ID number showed that the numbers did match the vehicle. But while stopped, officers noticed a smell of marijuana and asked where it was.
Cespedes handed the officers a small container and then the vehicle was searched with a K-9 dog which found two additional containers.
Both men were released and given a future court date.
